Device Need and Project ScopePeriodic Leg Movement Disorder (PLMD) is prevalent in patients with neuromuscular disorders. There is a need to predict and monitor violent muscle contractions at night cause by PLMD in these patients. The solution must be able to work the entire night, analyze and store data, and provide an interactive output. The goal is to implement a design that attaches to a patient in a safe and comfortable (i.e. unobtrusive to sleep) manner that is easily adjustable to each user. The plan is to deliver a pre-clinical prototype that can successfully output to a mechanical stimulating device at the end of April.
